Session Overview & Narrative Recap
Act I: The Flooded Brewery & The Trail of Thorn
Following the street clash outside Pollo's Potions, the party focuses on downtime renovations in their newly acquired two-and-a-half-story building in Suzail's commercial district. The structure—a formerly abandoned brewery—suffers from waterlogged subfloors and rotting beer vats.
While overseeing repairs, Malakor Viridian confers with House Ebonhawk logistics officers regarding missing supplies and the trail of Thorn. Ebonhawk scouts report that all roads lead south into the Farseas toward House Irungarten and the sunken halls of Wyrmhall. An officer hands Malakor a stamped brass card for Barnaby Fitz-Oswald, an eccentric salvage dealer operating out of a temporary pop-up shop downtown.
Act II: The Concord of the Shattered Horn
Shifty and Malakor piece together high-society whispers regarding a covert diplomatic conclave dubbed "The Concord of the Shattered Horn". Investigation reveals the host to be House Grakoss—the surviving Thayan Red Wizard house that has been aggressively purchasing prime Cormyrean real estate under Crown representation.
The summit is scheduled to take place within The Conservatory of the Gilded Peafowl, a gemstone-encrusted glass dome in the Upper Nobles Ward. Lacking formal aristocratic credentials, the party relies on Shifty's legal Fool's License, which grants the Queen's jester unrestricted entry into noble functions.
Act III: The Snob Gate & Noble Networking
The party arrives at the conservatory amidst a sea of Cormyrean nobility, Sembian merchants, and privateer captains from the Sea of Fallen Stars:
- The Snob Gate: Shifty confronts the entrance chokepoint held by Baroness Velyra Marsember. Rolling an extraordinary Natural 28 social check, Shifty enraptures the dowager. Smitten by his wit, the Baroness flirts uncomfortably close, touches his horns, boasts of her merchant fleet, and invites him to breakfast aboard her ships, granting the party open passage.
- Alchemical Commerce: Marco Pollo works the room pitching bespoke skin-restorative tonics and stress-relieving potions to highborn ladies and stressed guild factors.
- The Coin Gate: Malakor monitors Lord Chancellor Corvinus Truesilver, observing Crown accounting distress as the war in the Stormhorns strains the royal treasury.
Act IV: The Coralheart Entourage & The Slamming Door
Tension erupts across the grand ballroom as a foreign heraldry banner is planted near the entrance, heralding the unexpected arrival of an entourage of four Coralhearts in ceremonial livery.
Capitalizing on the spectacle, the Sunset Peaks syndicate emissary Kalthor Vo slips past Lord Truesilver into the restricted conference corridor. The party intercepts his contact details—a private office located at the south end of the Bridge District near the docks.
Shadowing Kalthor Vo, Bogg and the party reach the threshold of the private council room where House Grakoss and the conspirators are finalizing their pact. Just as the party steps into the private wing, the heavy reinforced door slams shut behind them, trapping them in closed quarters on an intense cliffhanger!
