The Clutch

The Clutch is the name given to Tycho Irungarten's network of crystalline scrying orbs — magical surveillance instruments tuned to specific locations or rune-encrusted golems traveling the Irungarten family's territory.

Function

The Clutch allows Tycho to observe his fraternity's domain without being physically present. Each orb is attuned to either:

A fixed location of strategic importance (gates, workshops, holding areas)
A mobile golem traveling the countryside as a roaming observation unit

Together, the Clutch gives Tycho an intelligence advantage that complements his centuries of experience and his family's industrial power base.

Context

As a centuries-old elven paladin who controls Wyrmhall and the surrounding western swamp territories, Tycho relies on the Clutch to maintain oversight of a domain too large for any single individual to physically monitor. The system reflects the House Irungarten family's general approach to power: technological leverage as a force multiplier.
