Shifty (formally known at court as Shifty the Jester) is a Tiefling College of Eloquence Bard and the officially appointed Royal Court Jester of Cormyr under Queen Raedra Obarskyr.

The Fool's License & Courtly Espionage

Beneath the painted smile, bells, and crimson-and-gold motley of a royal fool, Shifty is one of the sharpest political operatives in Suzail and Highforge. He holds the coveted Fool's License — a royal writ signed by Queen Raedra Obarskyr granting him legal immunity to mock, question, and needle high-born nobles, merchant patriarchs, and foreign emissaries to their faces without reprisal.

While noble houses like House Foxmantle and secret cells of House Osrin guard their tongues around War Wizards and Purple Dragon officers, they routinely underestimate the jester pouring their wine. Shifty uses cutting satire, Silver Tongue eloquence, and whispered rumor to map the conspiracies linking Highforge's salons to the Farseas methane crisis.

Highforge Operations

Operating alongside the myconid hunter Bogg, the fugitive Thayan abjurer Malakor Viridian, and the crown fixer Drakkhen Crowman, Shifty serves as the social vanguard of the Highforge cell — opening velvet doors that no blade could breach.
