So a sixth edition of Shadowrun is apparently due to drop in short order; nice and rushed as usual it seems. No word of playtest, no word of player input.
I'm sure there will be lots of short stories.
Lots of short stories.
I think the streams we see online speak for themselves.
Shadowrun is a sweet fucking world, but the engineers (literary engineers) behind the rules aren't getting the mechanics quite where they need to be.
I think it's great that Shadowrun is not dead; in fact, there's a pretty decent community behind it.
I don't want to say it will suck, but watching the stream and reading peoples comments, I'm not super confident, but I can attest that they've certainly streamlined the rules, and I hope they'll get things right before release.
Here's hoping there's no square root calculations for explosives.
The stream is decent, and I loved the music use.
