The mobile camera for my streaming players is a difficult challenge that I may have cracked.
I forgot I had a spare phone and intend to start testing this with tonights game, although as phones and the sand might be concerned, I doubt this unit is as durable as the PS3 eye.
Also, battery life is a concern so I'll have to order a small 14v (for fast charge) battery pack to provide video level juice.
The GoPro plan fell through as the GoPro cameras do not support any sort of live streaming natively, save through the periscope app on mobile (at the time of this writing).
The 'live streaming' I was speaking to was in fact a file resident upon the GoPro that provides the LCD screen's preview footage.
While it would have been decent at around 800 pixels width, the hassle of setting it up plus the cost, plus the fact of its cost, set me off.
I may ultimately end up going that route because a phone is not a robust action cam meant to be taken through harsh climates, like sand, water, fire ..and flour.
