How to be a Mod

You want to be part of the elite? Part of something special? Part of a growing community that promises ever rising duty and constantly changing challenges? Yeah me neither. That's why I run a Twitch stream and not a Fortune 500 company.

This page aims to act as reference for moderators on principles behind my Twitch channel and how to conduct their duties. Let's dive right in, shall we?

The Basics

Injections are controlled with !inject.

A viewer will punch in:

!inject 50 something completely out of place happens and it's epic

The fairy wil post that to the injection board with 50 points and the name of the original suggestor.

I will declare it to have a value of 10k and need the support of four viewers.

The mods role now comes to effect as they punch in:

!inject 10000 3 set

Followed by:

!inject 4 3 users

The injection on the board should now have a cost of 10,000 XP and require the support of four users.

Rule #0. Table comes first.

If the player aren't having fun, the game sucks and if the game sucks, the stream sucks and if the stream sucks; you get the idea.

I'm a popularity whore and a crowd pleaser, so I forget myself sometimes, but I strive to ensure that the table comes first and have had to tell people mid injection, that it ain't happening.

How do we balance the two? High prices. If someone comes up with something like a volcano that erupts sharks, that qualifies as ridiculous. That particular injection had staying power. The price of that injection? 50 million and four supporters.

Rule #1. Zero tolerance.

I fucking hate people. I mean I fucking really hate people. If I have the opportunity to ban someone, oh boy oh boy oh boy do I love dropping the hammer.

Conversely, jokes are jokes and not everyone is socially capable, so sometimes false positives happen.

That said, if someone new name shows up in the channel and starts insulting players or fellow viewers, they're fucking gonzo. Banhammer at over 9000.

I ain't in this to be popular and I'm certainly not winning any popularity contests. So fuck'em. Ban'em before they piss me off and I do your job for you :)

Rule #2. People can be dumb. Be patient and help them figure it out.

Holy fuck people can be retarded. They come up with stupid ideas, they are impatient, and fucking thankless. Omg so thankless.

They are our viewership though and we gotta love them for that. Besides, why else am I streaming if not for the entertainment of the unwashed masses.

As a mod, your duty is to translate stupid shit into injections.
